"Those who are benevolent love mountains; those who are wise love waters." Amidst the hustle and bustle of this world, with a longing for nature and humanity, I set foot on the mysterious and beautiful land of Guizhou.
Last Saturday, I arrived in Guiyang, Guizhou. As soon as I got off the train, this city embraced me with its unique charm. I strolled along Qianling West Road and East Road. The old buildings on both sides of the street seemed to be recounting the tales of the years. The mottled walls and ancient doors and windows all carried the memories of this city.
The aroma of delicacies wafted through the streets and alleys, teasing my taste buds. I tasted the renowned Guizhou plain rice noodles. The fine and smooth texture, along with the spicy and sour flavor, instantly conquered my palate. With one bite, it felt as if the entire world became beautiful. One couldn't help but sigh, "This flavor should only exist in heaven; how often can one taste it in the mortal world?"
On the second day, I headed to Zhijin Cave to explore the wonderful world hidden deep underground. As soon as I stepped into the cave, I was stunned by the scenes before me. The stalactites of various shapes, under the illumination of the lights, were like a dream or a fantasy. Some were like fairies descending to the mortal world, some resembled arhats meditating, and others were like dragons emerging from the sea. I couldn't resist pressing the shutter and took a photo of a stalactite named "Salvation for All Sentient Beings". Its benevolent appearance seemed to be telling the love and kindness in the world. In this wonderful cave, I felt the uncanny workmanship of nature and also understood the smallness and humility of humans before nature.
On the third day, I chose to hike in Qianling Mountain Park. Along the way, the trees provided shade, and the gentle breeze brushed my face, bringing waves of freshness. The popular monkeys here were lively and cute. They jumped and played among the branches, adding much vitality to this mountain forest. And the chubby pandas were even more amusing. When I climbed to the top and reached Hongfu Temple, I sincerely prayed for all those who had helped me before, wishing them peace and smoothness, and happiness and well-being. Standing in front of the temple and looking down at the city below, my heart was filled with endless emotions. When I came to Qianling Lake, the water was glittering. I couldn't help recalling the scenes of swimming in the water when I was a child. Those carefree times seemed like yesterday but were also so far away.
On the fourth day, I finally saw the Huangguoshu Waterfall that I had been longing for. Before approaching it, the deafening roar had already reached my ears. When I stood at the foot of the waterfall and looked up, I saw the waterfall pouring down like the Milky Way from the ninth heaven. The water splashed in all directions, like smoke and fog. At this moment, my heart was extremely excited. All the troubles were thrown behind, and there was only awe and praise for nature in my heart. "The waterfalls plummet from three thousand feet high, as if the Silver River has fallen from the ninth heaven." This age-old poem seemed so appropriate at this moment.
On the fifth day, the morning sunlight spilled on the streets. I tasted Guizhou plain rice noodles for the last time. The familiar flavor made me reluctant to leave. With a heart full of memories, I reluctantly boarded the return bullet train.
My trip to Guizhou, though short, was fulfilling. The mountains and waters, the delicacies and the humanity here have all been deeply imprinted in my heart. It made me understand that life is not just about the present hardships; there are poems and distant places. In the days to come, I will carry this beautiful memory and continue to move forward, in pursuit of more wonderfulness.
