致妙清：2018国庆第五天

  今天是国庆节的第五天，也是一个不错的日子。这一刻我的外籍老师，也是我的外籍朋友从桂林来到成都。于是，我们相约在文殊坊喝中国传统茶道。带他体会中国文化的魅力。此刻，我们谈到了很多关于中国和美国的文化。从中明白其实美国文化不比中国强。而中国富有5000年历史，在这里就比美国更有神秘感。中午时间，我领他去品尝了成都传统地道小吃。老师Tommy赞不绝口。其实在他品尝过程中，我第一次感觉到，也明白了与老友傻乐相伴，是莫大幸哉。他也教会了我悔恨自己的错误，而且力求不再重蹈覆辙，这才是真正的悔悟。优于别人，并不高贵，真正的高贵应该是优于过去的自己。

  Today is fifth of national day. Also is a sunny day. My foreign teacher Tommy come to Chengdu. We meet at Wenshu Monastery in the morning. Then we chat and drinking Chinese tea together for long time. During meet , we talked some topics about culture of the United States and China. Lunch time , we have lunch in a restaurant . I took him to taste the authentic snacks in Chengdu . After lunch, he told me: that’s awesome. At the moment, I first understand one sentence that it is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them. To regret one’s errors to the point of not repeating them is true repentance. There is nothing noble in being superior to some other man. The true nobility is in being superior to your previous self.
