Last night, I had a strange dream. In the dream, I was in a completely unfamiliar large meeting room, attending a staff meeting for all employees.
During the meeting, Director Chen Chao came to the stage to speak. However, after he finished speaking, he insulted me in front of everyone. At that moment, anger surged up in my heart instantly. I disregarded the occasion and had a fierce quarrel with him in front of all the staff. In the midst of this intense dispute, I suddenly woke up from the dream.
After waking up, my wife beside me said, "You have too much inner demons." Her words made me fall into deep thought.
Recalling the scene in the dream, my anger was so intense and uncontrollable. Chen Chao's insult was certainly unacceptable, but my fierce reaction was also an outbreak of inner anger? Once the fire of anger ignited, it spread rapidly, making me lose my reason and calmness.
Just as it is said in the "Heart Sutra": "The mind is free from hindrances. Because there are no hindrances, there is no fear." My inner self had hindrances due to excessive concern about others' words, thus being controlled by anger and falling into fear and unease. If I could have no attachments in my heart and not be disturbed by external insults, perhaps I could avoid this unnecessary quarrel.
The "Diamond Sutra" also teaches us: "All phenomena are illusory." Chen Chao's insult to me in the dream might just be an illusory appearance, a projection of the fear and unease deep in my heart. If I could识破 this illusory appearance and not be influenced by it in terms of emotions, I could maintain inner peace and tranquility.
Anger is an inner demon that obscures our eyes and prevents us from seeing the truth of things. In life, we often encounter various unsatisfactory things, such as misunderstandings, accusations, and even insults from others. If we respond with anger every time, we will only plunge ourselves into endless troubles and pains.
Through this dream, I profoundly realized the importance of cultivating the inner self. We need to learn to control our emotions and face all kinds of challenges in life with a peaceful and tolerant attitude. When anger strikes, we should learn to take a deep breath, calm down, be aware of our emotions, and not be driven by them.
In the days to come, I am willing to take the wisdom of the "Heart Sutra" and the "Diamond Sutra" as guidance and constantly cultivate my inner self. Learn to let go of attachments, not be deceived by illusory appearances, and treat others with a compassionate and tolerant heart. I believe that through such cultivation, I can gradually overcome the inner demons and have a more peaceful and beautiful life.
Life is a kind of cultivation. Every experience, whether in a dream or in reality, is an opportunity for us to grow. Let us cherish these opportunities, constantly reflect, and keep making progress, making our souls increasingly pure and bright on the path of cultivation.
